The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (or “Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich” in German) is one of the most prestiged research institutions in the world, featuring often in the top 10 of several international rankings.

a) By Tram: From the “Zurich Airport” tram stop, take Tram no. 10 towards Bahnhofplatz/HB and get out at “ETH/Universitätsspital”. The tram runs every 7 to 15 minutes between 6 in the morning and 11 at night.
The journey will take about 30 minutes.
b) By Rail:
Take the S-Bahn train from the “Zurich Airport” station to “Zurich Hauptbanhof (HB)”. The journey will take approximately 10 minutes. Once at Zürich HB, you can then take either Tram #6 from Zürich HB/Bahnhofstrasse or Tram #10 from Zürich HB/Bahnhofplatz to “ETH/Universitätsspital”. The tram ride will take about 6 minutes. Or you can just walk to ETH Zentrum. It’s a pleasant 10-minute, 1000-meter walk.
