University of Málaga - Teatinos Campus

The 24th edition of ICCS will be hosted by the University of Málaga, at the School of Computer Science and Engineering in the Teatinos campus, located a short metro trip away from the city center.

The University of Málaga (Universidad de Málaga – UMA) is a public university founded in 1972. The university offers 63 degrees and 120 post-graduate degrees. Close to 40.000 students are studying at UMA, taught by 2500 teachers, distributed over 81 departments and 19 centers. The UMA has 278 research groups, which are involved in 80 national projects and 30 European and International projects.

UMA is divided into two campuses: “El Ejido” and “Teatinos” (were ICCS is taking place). Some of the university’s activities are also carried out in other strategic locations throughout the city and province, such as the Málaga’s business centre, Andalusia’s Technology Park, and in other cities such as Ronda and Antequera.

The Teatinos campus is the heart of the University, comprising most of the schools and services. As a modern and functional campus, it is an example of Málaga’s young lifestyle and a well connected area to the city centre.
Furthermore, it is a social campus comprising a wide range of services and sites: Sports, Library, Botanical Garden, Housing, Pre-Elementary School, and other facilities related to Culture and Science.

The School of Computer Science and Engineering – ETSI Informática – is a pioneer in its field, offering the widest range of IT related subjects in Andalusia. Its primary mission is to train future Computer Science professionals. Since its foundation in 1987, the school has enjoyed strong links with local, social and economic bodies through the completion of research projects and the technology transfer contracts developed by the school’s teaching and research staff.
