How to get to Kraków

You can reach Kraków by: Transportation within the city:

DIRECT FLIGHT TO KRAKÓW

There is an international airport Balice in Kraków. Balice has direct connections to Budapest, Chicago, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Munich, New York, Paris, Prague, Rome, Tel Aviv, Vienna, Warszawa and Zurich (see current flight schedule). The flights to Kraków are operated by the Polish Airlines LOT, Lufthansa, British Airways, Austrian Airlines and Swissair.

The airport is located about 16 km from the centre of Kraków. You can reach it by a taxi (approx. 40 polish zloty i.e. about 8 Euro) or public bus number 192 (ticket price is 2.4 PLN, i.e. about 0.5 Euro) or 208 (ticket price is 2.5 PLN). Tickets are available in trafika kiosks at the airport. Remember to punch an extra ticket per each big piece of your luggage (exceeding 60 cm length).

FLIGHT TO WARSZAWA

There is an international airport Okecie in Warszawa, located about 10 km from the center of the city. Okecie has a direct connections to Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Beirut, Berlin, Bratislava, Brussels, Bucharest, Budapest, Chicago, Cologne / Bonn, Copenhagen, Dublin, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hamburg, Helsinki, Istambul, Kaliningrad, Kiev, London, Lvov, Lyon, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Minsk, Moscow, Munich, New York, Nicea, Odessa, Oslo, Paris, Prague, Riga, Rome, Sofia, St.Petersburg, Stockholm, Tallinn, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Tunis, Vienna, Vilnius, Zagreb, Zurich, as well to some others airports. To reach Kraków from Warszawa you can: There are many trains (Inter City and Express) from Warszawa to Kraków daily in the train summer timetable.

The Central Railway Station in Warszawa is located about 10 km from the airport Okecie. We recommend you to take Airport City bus (avoid taxis in Warszawa - they are very expensive for foreigner!)

INTERNATIONAL TRAIN OR BUS

It is also possible to reach Kraków by an international train or bus. There is a lot of connections from different European cities (see the current train arrivals/departures schedule to/from Kraków Main Railway Station).

The main Railway Station and Bus Station is located next to the Old Town. From the Main Railway Station you can reach conference venue by a taxi (about 20 PLN) and by bus lines: 179, 501, 511, or tram line 15.

TRANSPORTATION WITHIN THE CITY

  • Kraków has an extensive tram and bus network (see schema of bus or tram connections). At night you may travel by night buses. The single ticket price inside a city for public transport is 2.4 PLN, i.e. about 0.5 Euro (remember to punch an extra ticket per each big piece of your luggage - exceeding 60 cm length). You can also buy a one-hour ticket (3.0 PLN), daily ticket (10 PLN), two-day (18 PLN) or three-day (24 PLN) ticket. Tickets are available in trafika kiosks at the train station and all around the city.

  • Taking a taxi for a route within a city limits shouldn't be more expensive than 40 PLN (8 Euro).
