Quick Links
From Changi Airport to NTU@one-north
The most affordable and efficient option is by far the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) Rail Network.
To get from the airport to NTU@one-north:
Take the train from Changi Airport MRT Station (CG2) to Tanah Merah MRT Station (EW4), then transfer to the East-West Line towards Tuas Link MRT Station (EW33). Hop off at Buona Vista MRT Station (EW21).
If you look at the MRT map, you will see a station called “one-north” (on the Circle Line), which you might be logically inclined to consider as the better option, but please don’t; it’s actually farther from the campus. Always use the Buona Vista station.
If you are staying at either the Park Avenue Rochester or the Citadines Connect Rochester, do also hop off at Buona Vista MRT station, as these two hotels are quite close to the NTU@one-north campus.
From the airport to the city center
To go from the airport to the city center, do the exact same as above, that is, take the East-West line, and hop off at City Hall (EW13) or Raffles Place (EW14). Both of these also connect to the North-South line.
Alternatively, you can also take the train from Changi Airport MRT Station to Expo MRT Station (CG1/DT35), then transfer to the Downtown Line towards Bukit Panjang MRT Station (BP6/DT1). Then hop off at either Bayfront (DT16), which connects to the Circle Line, Downtown (DT17), or Chinatown (DT19), for example.
How to pay for the MRT
Payment options include contactless Mastercard/Visa/NETS bank cards, mobile wallets (Google Pay, Apple pay etc), stored-value EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay cards, and the Singapore Tourist Pass.
Do note however, that if you have a foreign-issued bank card, admin fees will apply for every journey (payment) you make.
For this reason, we suggest purchasing a stored-value EZ-Link card. which you can do at any Changi Recommends store (Level 1 at Arrivals Hall), or at the Passenger Service Centre or TransitLink Ticket Office at Changi Airport Station. These cards can be used for public transportation in Singapore, and also at some retail outlets. The cards are rechargeable and can be topped up at various locations.
The fare depends on the distance you travel, but a typical journey costs around $2.
