ACCEPT – Full Paper
Full papers must have between 12 and 15 pages, including any and all references and appendices.
Full papers are always presented orally (20 minutes including Q&A).
All full papers are published in the conference proceedings by Springer LNCS.
ACCEPT – Short Paper – Oral/Poster
In ICCS, the threshold for full paper acceptance is quite high. As such, many submissions initially entered as full papers are accepted
as short papers.
During the reviewing stage, the scientific committee may conclude that a paper originally submitted as a “full paper” is definitely interesting and worthy of publication, but that it needs more work and refinement to effectively be accepted as a 15-page full paper.
Such papers are then accepted as short papers (8-page limit), and can be presented either as posters or as talks (20 minutes incl.Q&A).
The presentation type is decided by the scientific committee, having in mind how the paper’s particular content may better fit the program of the conference.
All short papers, regardless of presentation type, are published in the proceedings in the exact same way as full papers, and indexed by the same indices. The only difference between a full paper and a short paper, publication-wise, is the number of pages.
Furthermore, at ICCS, posters are up during the full three conference days, thereby receiving a lot of exposure.
Presentation Only – Oral/Poster
As stated above for short papers, in ICCS the threshold for full paper acceptance is rather high. It may happen that a submission initially entered as a full/short paper is accepted as just an abstract (for presentation at the conference but no publication in the proceedings).
This happens when, after analyzing your paper and its reviews, we feel that it is interesting and worthy of inclusion in the conference program, but that it still needs further improvements and maturity before it is accepted for publication.
There is also the case of researchers who can only publish in specific journals or work for companies in circumstances such that they cannot publish at all, but who still want to present their work and discuss it with their peers at ICCS.
These contributions are initially submitted as abstracts (Presentation Only) and, if of suitable relevance and quality, accepted as such.
Abstracts can be presented either as posters or orally (10 to 20 minutes incl. Q&A).
The presentation type is decided by the scientific committee, having in mind how the abstract’s particular content may better fit the program of the conference.
As also stated above for short papers, at ICCS posters are up during the full three conference days, thereby receiving a lot of exposure.
